 Let's MOTOR!
Well, after my first trip to Hassell,in Freeport to check some noises I was hearing. The car was kinda backfiring between shifts and on deceleration, so they check the car and then the  service manager informs me it was designed that way by mini to give the car a European feel?? Anyone else get this? Its really annoying for me,he then told me I could put a JCW exhaust and it would be gone! Typical dealer response. The rear speakers also sound blown, they are replacing one of them under the warranty.Mabey I should just get a pair of aftermarket,Boston Acoustics or something, since the OEM ones sound so poor. Thanks for the info.

I own 3 MINI's 03, 05 and 06 MCS Coopers and all are making this sweet burbling noise after decelerating or in between shifting. In a way the dealer is correct that this was intentionally build in to the car driving experience. My 05 is heavily modified for the autocross and race track, where the exhaust was lobotomized to gain power and also to be heard on road. It is a personal preference and you have the right to not liking it. There are aftermarket exhaust systems available to tune this noise and the car performance and my suggestion is to meet with our club members, maybe at the next club meeting, and listen to other opinions. You may get an answer to your preferred noise level tuning. God luck, and enjoy the MINI. What is her name?
