Look I'm driving Rallying! 10/11/2009 Sunday, Oktoberfest run to Bear Mountain staring at 10:00am from The Bagel Factory located in Airport Plaza Farmingdale of off Rt. 110.

http://www.visitbearmountain.com

*** Bagel Factory Directions: http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Farmingdale&state=NY&address=234+Airport+Plaza+Blvd&zipcode=11735

!!! Make sure you have walky-talky radio tuned to channel #7.0

The trip is about 1 1/2 hour to the destination, parking fee is $7.00, if you have your 1/2 Ltr mug from last year bring it! Serving Bratwurst, Knackwurst, Sour Kraut, pirogi's, Deserts to die for, "Spaten" Beer and plenty of music to dance. The grounds open 12 noon until 6pm. Return trip is up to individuals.

We will be stopping after 1/2 hour driving just after the Throgs Neck bridge tool to pickup MINI's coming from west so they do not have to drive backwards to Farmingdale.

We had 6 MINI's and some new friends there. We ware there from 1pm thru 4pm and did not see you seatrax? Long lines (1+ hour wait) for food and no table to sit down for a long time. The most people I have seen in past 4 years going there.

What a beautiful day for a drive, and super colors in the leaves!
We arrived at 11:30 with Kellstoy and parked in lot #2 (#1 was already full and closed).  There were no tables left then.....the only seating was on the benches around the lake.  We didn't even attempt the 1+hour food line, because I knew that I could not stand still for that long!! (I have to keep moving) Least the beer line was REALLY FAST......but no mugs/steins to be had!!  We only saw two other MINIs, a pepper white and a silver, one of which had Jersey plates.....and they didn't look familiar to me. The twisty road that Kell took us on, in/out was GREAT......but our fun was over when we left and got half way back down and  the traffic backed up!  We had turned our radio on to channel 7 but didn't raise anybody, didn't have any cell phone numbers, Sorry We Missed You!!!!   Bang Head!  There was definitely A LOT of  people there!!   Note for next year......GET THERE EARLY

Yes we also had to park in #2 lot down the hill under the overpass...yes the NJ MINI was one of our group of 6 MINI's...We finally got to sit down by the Pretzels booth next to the marionettes and beer steins table... no we did not stay on line for the food, just had some pretzels and beer. Oh yes I had 2 of my steins from last year with me (refill only $7 for 4.5 cups) so beer was cheep about $1.56 a cup instead of $5 ! I filled the two steins and then we used the cups to share the beer, what a bargain!

On way up we hit a bad traffic jam going on cross island to Throgs Neck Bridge about 40+ minutes...way back was just fine about hour and 40 minutes.

A beautiful and fun day...sorry to miss you, maybe next time we should agree on place to meet there?
