Paul asked me to post this to you guys:

There is a new iphone app for the MINI that was put out by BMW.  It is called the MINI Link.  It seems pretty cool, because it allows other MINI enthusiasts to pin drop good driving locations, hangouts, etc. on a gps map.  You can even track another MINI if the person turns on their location finder (good feature for your rallies).
  
Also, they put out a couple of months ago a Roadside Assist App for the MINI which allows you to contact MINI roadside assistance instantaneously.  Pretty cool.

I have not played with it much yet, but it does require you to put in your vin if you wnat to use all of the things that it can do.

i dont see why not, you will need a network connection but ou can use it for some things
