Hello everyone,

Yep...its the time again to meet and say hello while preparing for the upcoming events and schedule. We are looking forward to share jointly our club events including garage parties with L.I.M.E. and invited them to have a talk. Lets get ready for the March 28th Wine Rally and prepare the list of wineries to stop by. We will be looking in to putting together a BMW CCA Autocross 2010 team with club members interested in some extra thrills and fun including challenging their driving skills-we need a team leader-anyone interested? Help us to make the MINI~Q 2010 reality, yes preregistration are coming in steadily and if yours is not in-now is the time to register-click here: http://www.usminiclub.net/index.php?module=phatform&PHAT_MAN_OP=view&PHPWS_MAN_ITEMS[]=1

To think little ahead; get ready for the April 18th POKER Run-last year was great and many MINI friends from upstate and Connecticut joined us for the fun including after-event food and beer while awarding prizes and trophies. On the agenda is also suggested event by Rob to organize a Photo-Scavenger run and rally-we have some great ideas and like to pass it by you for your input.

If the weather permits we plan on leaving early and going down to Freeport for lunch at Jeremy's Pub.

New Club membership drive brochures will be available again to anyone for pickup, and yes we gratefully except your official club membership registrations and donations.

Breakfasts: Everyone is invited to Sunday Bagel and Coffee breakfast at “The Bagel Factory” located in Airport Plaza Farmingdale of off Rt. 110 starting between 10-11am, yes every Sunday, rain snow or shine!

Club Meetings: Everyone is invited to join us at the monthly Club meetings and become an official member with suggested donation of $25 per year. As an official member receive a free Club Sticker, Membership Card and Personal Invitation Cards. Enjoy free participation at our Rally or Tour events (when applicable), discounts on Polo Shirts, T-Shirts and other apparel. When weather permitted we leave early to places of interest, like MINI Golf, Bowling, and early lunch etc. Also included are free raffles held at every club meeting while the prizes last?

Sorry I can't make the meeting, but here are some somethings that need to be discussed.  I can't believe that you people are going to try for another MiniQ----haven't you learned that you have to get rid of the problem people first!  You need to set parameters for exhibitors, so that the same person doesn't take home all the awards every year.  I won't mention any names but her car is red with black and white checks.  I have been told that she has been harassing and causing problems for many members of this club and in other clubs too.  People like this should not be awarded for their behavior!  She has also taken pictures of other MINIs and submitted them to NEMINI for the 2010 calendar and this behavior was awarded too.  She did not get permission from the owners of the cars, to have their cars' picture published in the calendar.  This was pointed out by the owner of the April calendar picture, who, by the way is considering legal action.  What was with this Hamptons Scavenger Hunt that you let happen?  All she did was copy a previous event, which I think you are now trying to bring back.
DON'T LET HER CONTINUE TO DESTROY THE MINI NAME. Thank You!

Someone who has to register under a new user name to not be accountable for his words
should not be aloud to attend any meeting or event (only cowards act this way)!! It's people with attitudes as yours that will destroy the Mini name !!

I haven't posted before, and took this opportunity to log on and voice my rather outraged opinion.  My husband and I have been members of the club for the last year, and have participated and loved many of the planned outings.  We've made a bunch of new friends, and have thoroughly enjoyed the caliber of the clubs members, that is until now.

I'm not aware of any problems amongst members, and after reading the recently posted message airing dirty laundry, I can say that up until now I'm glad that I've been a happy member of this group.  I'd like to stay that way, but find the behavior exhibited totally unacceptable.  This isn't High School !!!! We are all adults, and as adults I would think that any person would have the balls, yes I said BALLS, to speak about these issues with the party / parties involved, and ONLY those people.  My God....... this truly sucks.  You also had to go undercover so that people won't know who you are, by signing onto a new fictitious name, but I can assure you, people know who you are !!!!

I just signed up, a short while ago, but I'm not afraid to say who I am.... my name is Shelley, and I own the JCW Red Convertible.....

The person you are so called eluding to is someone I proudly consider a friend of mine.  If this person has done something to offend you, or the "other" people you mention, let them step forward, address the issue, PRIVATELY, so that we can go forward from here, and we can all continue to enjoy this group.

Any club event is just that-a club event to share our enthusiasm for the MINI Motoring and share fun with friends. In the history of the world there never will be everyone agreeing with all on everything-that is the facts. We as the club appreciate any members effort to organize and host an event shared by the members having good time and meet new friends. If anyone has any gripes about anything-they have the right to express it but do it face to face-that is what the meeting are for and not anonymously hiding behind a forum post like a coward! Seatrax is and always will be a part of our club family who deserves, no-who earned  respect by always being there when needed to help others and the club grow. How little you know...

The MINI~Q will go ON regardless of your opinion...grow some OO and show you are not coward-help, participate and be a part of the effort in organizing events and maybe we will respect you-but not like this.

This is very sad!  I am Mr. April on the calendar and am proud to have it on there.  Please don't try to assassinate Sharon like this.  We've had our differences in the past, but she has done so much good for the club and the MINI movement.  The Scavenger hunt (no offense Rob) was one of the best I've ever been on.

as a long time.. (wow that long) member of the club.. I am truly p***ed-off off at this rant by Big D.  Mr D??  may I call you Richard??    sure like all clubs some members might like what one person does  and others have their differences.  Hell  on NEMINI one time I was blasted by a member there for not providing enouogh of a thrill ride through the Hamptons.   and most of my rides are long and Im sure to some boring.

And  Sue and I did not participate in Mini-Q 2... since we were tied up with.. oh yeah MOVING!!

but to go out like this  is beyond belief.  I am VERY proud to count a whole bunch of MINIacs as good friends.. Peter, Sharon, Franny .. the list goes on and on.. my friend missy   hell even Arnie I know from commuting when I was  in East Rockaway and from WORK!! and countless others.  Roman.. on and on..
and Paul.. what can I say... Paul, Marilyn, Sam and Jackie are considered family with my family and vice versa.

stop hiding Mr Richard.. or should I just say a line from 'Life of Brian' ..

hey I know how the mini club could be better.. without you!!!

....."The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.” ~ Charles R. Swindol

And right now my ATTITUDE sucks!!!!
But I guess you had plenty to talk about at the meeting!!!!

At the club meeting we accomplished all we scheduled to discus and to do. We had a welcomed guess; Al Diamante from L.I.M.E. to stop by talking about shared events planning for this year season. Most importantly we have selected the best appropriate park permit form for the MINI~Q and fill out the particular information ready for submitting. If all goes well we may not need to pay for an insurance this time and that would save us a bundle. For the Sunday March 28th Wine Rally we all agreed on visiting Sherwood, Pindar and Macari vineyards..maybe the LiV Vodka?...the entire tour will be from 11am thru 2 pm ending at Smoking Al's BBQ. Hope you all join us?

Sherwood House Vineyards
(631) 298-1396 Elijah's Lane, Mattituck www.sherwoodhousevineyards.com Sherwood House Vineyards is located on 38 acres of former potato and corn fields, just off Rt. 48 in Mattituck. The Vineyard features merlot, chardonnay, cabernet franc, rose, and blanc de blanc. Open May through mid-November. Tasting Room hours are Friday through Monday, 12pm - 5pm. Also available for private events.

Pindar Vineyards
(631) 734-6200 Main Rd, Rte 25, Peconic www.pindar.net Pindar currently encompasses nearly 550 acres of prime viticulture property and is Long Island's largest and most prestigious vineyard. Sixteen different vinifera varieties are grown at Pindar including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and lesser known varieties such as Viognier and Syrah.  Closed on major holidays. Tasting and in house tours are available during hours of operation. Caters to special events. Offers a wide variety of wines for sale, wine accessories, gift baskets, etc. Buses are welcome.

Macari Vineyards and Winery
(631) 298-0100 150 Bergen Avenue, Mattituck www.macariwines.com Macari's airy Tasting Room and Winery is open for tastings year round from 11 am - 5 pm. You can enjoy wine by the glass or the bottle on their covered deck or picnic area. Macari is available for parties, special events and weddings. The tasting room has various wines, gift baskets and assorted gift items available. Limos and buses are welcome by appointment only.

LiV Vodka
(631) 630-9322 2182 Sound Avenue, Baiting Hollow www.lispirits.com Artisanally Distilled Ultra Premium Vodka * Long Island's Original Vodka * Bottled and Distilled on Long Island * Uniquely crafted with 100% potatoes * Tasting Room open Mon-Fri 11-5 / Sat & Sun. 11-6

We have also talked about showing up at the BMW CCA Auto Cross events this year, not just racing but mostly cheering on our club members and helping as a pit-crew; this will be our opportunity to promote the club events especially the MINI~Q. We have 3 maybe 4 members interested so far so how about you? We also welcomed a new club member; Ed Brala and had a great and informative exchange of ideas and suggestions to help him in his new MINI purchase-good luck Ed.

Last we all agreed on the MINI~Q Tickets Coupon design and will be looking for a print-shop with best prices. When they finally will be available we will announce it for everyone to pick some up and help us to distribute the coupons.

Rob also briefly disused the planed photo-oddities scavenger tour and we exchanged some ideas. At the meeting conclusion Rob defended Seatrax about the forum post, but we had no exchange of any remarks respecting them not being present.

Our next club meeting will be on Sunday March 7th finalizing the MINI~Q event schedule and planning on the POKER Run in April plus Garage Parties and BMW CCA events.
 Let's MOTOR!

Hi Paul,
I think that stopping at the Vodka place is a good idea.  Sorry I could not make the meeting this Sunday, but let me know if you need any help.  In terms of Seatrax, Mr. D is nuts!  I first met Sharon at the MiniQ two years ago and she was one of the friendly faces that welcomed me.  I even talked of Checkers at the MINI meet in Minnesota with another 'checker' owner.  Mr. D grow up.  Sharon... don't even pay this person any mind, totally not worth it.  See ya soon!

RE: Big  D..............Now I know where he came from  !!!     screemer1

IRS Agent
At the end of the tax year, the IRS office sent an inspector to audit the books of a local hospital. While the IRS agent was checking the books, he turned to the CFO of the hospital and said, "I notice you
buy a lot of bandages. What do you do with the end of the roll when there's too little left to be of any use?" "Good question," noted the CFO. "We save them up and send them back to the bandage
company and every now and then they send us a free box of bandages." "Oh," replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer. But on he went, in his obnoxious way. "What about all these plaster purchases? What do you do with what's left over after setting a cast on a patient?"  "Ah, yes," replied the CFO, realizing that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question. "We save it and send it back to the manufacturer, and every now and then they send us a free package of plaster." "I see," replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster the know-it-all CFO. "Well," he went on, "What do you do with all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?" "Here, too, we do not waste," answered the CFO. "What we do, is save all the little foreskins and send them to the IRS Office, and about once a year they send us a complete dick."

I was just voicing my opinion.  Sharon and I go way back.  Ask HER about it.
