I dont know who you are but Ed has actually EARNED the trust of mini owners here on Long Island by the work he has done over the last  what 4-5 YEARS??? We know him  and his prices  and we know the parts  he has NEVER once gouged us on parts or prices for labor (which is usually  half of the dealer shops..)
is he a discount brake service?? no.. but then again he only uses OEM parts.. if they are not available.. he dbl or trpl checks with you on certain parts but only on certain bits,,   99% of all pieces are OEM.  Well we all bought MINIs knowing this was a car manufactured by BMW .. not Kia.    if you arent happy  you can always try  (note the word) the neighborhood mechanic or discount pep boys..

then we would see you coming back,,   Sorry.. but I and others trust Ed implicitly .. and he knows it.. A few years ago  Paul and I tried to hook Ed up with an independent shop to set of the first full service MINI repair shop... (the shop owner ended up bowing out and subsequently closed his doors).. but even some of the dealers mention Ed as a source for their long term customers for those who want work but cant afford the dealer..and an HONEST dealer would like to  continue a relationship.. and rather see the customer go to someone who cant do the work properly... they send people to Ed who is fully MINI trained and certified

sorry  just had to speak my peace   and considering the day..  well  whatever

WOW WOW WOW is all i have to say!

Hey Mini_z,  I had Ed swap out the stock OEM blow-off/bypass valve with the WMW Performance Blow off Valve from Way Motor Works here: http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-performance-blow-off-valve.html

At the same time Ed installed my NM CAI kit. Look here: http://www.namotorsports.net/detail.cfm/part_cd/NM658856b

I love the NM CAI kit it's absolutely beautiful... the wmw performance blow-off valve I'm not sure about.  When Ed and I looked at both parts side by side neither of us could see any difference between the OEM valve and the WMW valve.  The two looked exactly the same and the spring pressure seemed exactly the same.  I love the sound of turbo now, but I think most of the improvement is attributable to the CAI and not the blow-off valve.  Would I recommend the wmw performance blow-off valve?  Once again, I'm not sure.

I think the ranting of this "malteseracer" sounds much more like the rage of jeliously or envy or some other personal problem based attack on Ed.  It doesn't sound to me like this guy has ever had Ed work on his car, he's just angry for some reason.I'm furious!

I think it's safe to say that the majority of people, save one little p***ed-off off putz, highly recommend Ed to anyone wanting excellent quality service at a very reasonable price.

Cheers!

squeak, squeak?

the sway bar bushings squeak if they are not modified
the end links have exposed heim joints that get dirty and make noise over time

i had an alta bar and endlinks on my old mini. i replaced both after less than a year because of the noise
the bushings that come with the H&R sway bars are urethane/teflon composite and never require lubrication and never squeak
powergrid makes a correct ball stud joint endlink
both the powergrid endlinks and the H&R bar cost about the same as the alta parts
