I'm still working on it. Sorry not to have been that vocal the last few weeks.. kinda hada real REAL crappy year so far.. with surgery on  my rt eye   and now cant see clearly for it.. (if it doesnt clear  then more surgery..
 and my mother passing (thanks to all of you and especially those who responded both on here and by mail.. you know who you are)

so  I've been thinking how to do this again.. here is last years:
To ALL
 April 11 Sunday leaving @ 10 AM from Airport Plaze.. the 1st ever Photo Scavenger Oddities Hunt (for Mini's)  we will take old and new ones.. (and yes I did combine the scavenger hunt.. with an oddities tour,, and photography..)
 We have 8 places to find and figure out what is a) unusual about them or B) historic  about them.  Then photograph it and go on to the next.
 Most actually have a sign at the location. but 3 do not..  Also 2 are rather humorous (for those who know my type of humor.. you will understand it)
When finished we will all meet at the Panera Bread at Walt Whitman Shopping Center (unless someone has a better place in mind ).

All sites must be photographed (which I will review) with either a digital camera, cell phone, or for paul.. a pinhole with a polaroid back .

Several of the sites are on private property. which you will NOT be allowed onto. However.. you may photograph the site from the street

Originally I wanted your mini in the shot,, but decided against it.

My phone number will be included.. and it would be nice to get text's along the way to see where people are. (we might have a roving spotter too ..cant tell you)

The whole thing should take about 2-3 hours,

Oh  one more thing. There is NO set route on this.. if we get10 cars I didnt want all the cars going to the same place at the same time. You will get an envelope of 8 index cards with the addresses in there in a varied order. You can go in any order you want. but all have the same info

 for this year.. we've had a few different thoughts   and with the proliferation of smart phones and maps... we were wondering  what if i did a REAL scavenger photo hunt??  like name the item... and you have to find it???

like ie:highest point on Long Island  or ie: Prime Octagon House (I know that will bug a few..hehehe)

and NOT give the location.. any thoughts??  and yes both nassau and suffolk.....??
a real hunt.. (possibility of listing the items the nite before...and then going to shoot them AFTER we start..(remember all digital images are TIME STAMPED..remember I work in a camera store )

We need a specific date to schedule 1st so people know if they can attend? Anytime from August thru November is a possibility? Also we have SEATRAX Scavenger Hunt possibly in the same time window and need to communicate to avoid conflict.

A thought, how about including a twist-redirection note(in envelope or something like a hidden poster?) from original point of interest to get extra winning points?  YES we will have prizes and trophies for the winners!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, we have time to do this right with your help. After all this is for all of us to have fun!

Sign us up for April 17 Scavenger Hunt....it was interesting and lots of fun last year.

Well  we now have 8 cars for the Photo Oddities run and a date  april 17th

so get your cameras ready and get your mind cooking 
It will start (as usual) at Airport Plaza

Remember.. Sue and I have to review the images and the first one last year, the first one back with the correct images will win.

remember, last year the 6th person back got all the right images!!
