Hello,
The Club meeting agenda was completely based on the upcoming MINI~Q Auto Show planning this time. The group of attending members helped to fill in the much needed staff positions and responsibilities. As much as possible we have assigned two staff members to the daily tasks allowing each of them to share the staffing time and have some time for them self to have fun. Next we reviewed in detail the MINI~Q day schedule of each event, and the times including when and how we will serve the BBQ food and the Beer we are permitted to sell. Last we reviewed the Auto Show and the Driving Contest participation requirements and overall safety. We also mentioned the May 7th Spring Fling tour hosted by LIME, and the Rally to the Point hosted by Walter to be held on Saturday May 21st.
The MINI~Q Auto Show hosting will be provided by Steve Mahoney from HASSLE who will also supply the major Raffle prizes. The new event; Driving Contest is being hosted by Matt form Habberstad who was also at this meeting helping us with the agenda. Last we have added a new Lucky-Ducky Raffle hosted by Rob and Susan with all proceeds going to our charity. Some of the major prizes for the first place winners are a new MINI-GPS prize for the Auto Show, new 2Way Radios prize for the Driving Contest and Commemorative T-Shirts plus Wine and possibly 2 tickets to a baseball game valued at $120 each. All contestants in Auto Show and Driving Contest will receive Trophies and many additional prizes. We welcome anyone who is interested to bring and sell their MINI Stuff (rims, wheels, tires, exhausts and more...) asking only for a donation from their sales to the charity. If you get-in early on Sunday before noon, our club personal MINI adviser Ed will be there to answer any of your technical question-we also plan to schedule garage parties so don't miss your opportunity to be there.
I just got the news that Mark Smith from Fairfield MINI will be attending and bringing even more Raffle prizes. As you can see there is lot to do, many prizes to win and more friends to meet while sharing our enthusiasm for the MINI Cooper ownership.
There are 10 Days to the MINI~Q and everyone is getting more excited in anticipation of the fun time we all will have. Come and help us support our Breast cancer charity drive-we truly appreciate your donations.
