Jeff and I have been talking about visiting some of LI's wineries.  We'll have to see if the date is open as it gets closer, but I am gonna keep this in mind.

After I get my tax return, I'm considering taking a ride out the Wine Library in Jersey. Anyone is welcome to join. It's about an hour 15 from here. I'm going to try and start a semi-serious collection. Winelibrary.com

I'm in 100% just say when..My grandfather had a large wine cellar and made all kinds of wine every year. I remember as back as being 3 year old hanging around him watching the process. He has thought me many interesting thinks about wines, wine tasting and serving with food...well you know I do cook.
We also distilled prunes and or peaches making snaps, mainly 'Slivovitz' We're drunks! every year for the holidays...I remember the huge 50 letter glass pear like shape bottles stuffed with rotting peaches bubbling through the glass pipe in the cork watching it for grandpa. Boy what a smell through out the house! I never brewed beer but that can be fixed...

So when we're going? Let's MOTOR!

Like I said, I'd like to go when I get my return check. I'm going to call to make an appt tomorrow with my accountant - although i think after the wine rally, maybe we could go.

confirmed with Barney Loughlin for Loughlin Vineyards for March 25.  I wished him well as he is going for minor surgery.. (most likely we will see one of his daughters again

for a good view of the vineyard.. see this:
http://www.loving-long-island.com/loughlin-vineyards.html

I told him that from the smallest vineyard on LI he has one of the best wines  (my own favorite is the Blush.. I know Paul bought some last time we were there..)
