What a turn out.  Whooopeee!  The place was so packed you could hardly get

anybody to answer a question. Even Steve was giving test rides.
I swear, they just left the motors running, Look I'm driving Rallying! Shift gears! and people were

jumping in and out.  Steve did a GREAT Job, with the decorations,

Hot Food, Hungry?  the only thing missing was the marching band. (Which

Radio Station was that??) But the best was all the raffle prizes being

given out. ( I just went for the Coffee and Cake) Cake eats Cupcake Don't forget to

enter for the trip to Merry Olde England at VisitBritian.com ... We had a

blast..looking forward to seeing eveybody at the next event..Tks

Steve, for hosting a great party, see you in "the Hat" on Thusday.

I didn't get to drive one tonight, maybe if I can make it to Southampton tomorrow.  The speedo sure is big!  One fellow who test drove one said the R56 rides better.  Hassel has an '07 S in Sparkling Silver with the tan English leather seats, looks better in person.

i keep reading about how nice the ride is
i've also heard is very quiet with no sc whine and no exhaust burble

so the r56 is quieter and rides smoother than the r53
well so does my moms toyota minivan but i wouldn't trade my r53 mini for it  LOL ROTF

well.. went back to Hassel and drove the Black 07 MC with Tan seats..  and yes auto

handling... as good as current coopers.. (which I think are super!)

but the Engine... it has power on the low end.. which the TriTec was Always missing.. hit the sport button... it's a hell of a "fun" boost!!
ride as choppy as regular coopers... (I took it on Ocean Ave S Freeport... a street which NEEDS work..  and it was as rough as my car.). definatly a nice driving car.

Interior.. well.. i still prefer my older 2 spoke Multi function.. while I know a lot of you like the current 3 spoke.. so I kept hitting the shift paddles (it's where my radio controls are)

LOTS of switches and toggels and buttons.. and a mini menu version of the i-drive.. one knob giving you menu, radio and other features.. and this is without a gps!!!.. after working them... they might get commonplace...

but 5 toggles up top.. 5 down below... 3 lower buttons
the Auto AC has two roller controls alolng with 9 or 10 buttons

the radio  (not counting buttons for station presets_ comes with ..da-tada.. 8 buttons plus a knob that controls a lot of it...
the VOLUME is that lone single knob below the CD..

while we loved the toggles in the 02-06 Mini's.. it seems someone got out of control on this..
oh yes.. the car is started and stopped with a button .. and the symmetric copy of it on the other side of the center opens the glove box..

nice things... like BOTH roofs open (yes the second sunroof does open a little..)

I did find the rear seat  from knee to bottom a little shorter than the 02-06.. giving me more footwell room but less knee room.. (guess I'll wait for the Clubman)
oh   and what I always wanted... the regular MC finally comes with ASC+T (the lower right button in front of the shift).. now.. that lower LEFT button (wasnt sure if there was a middle button or just it wasnt used on my car).. that left one says simply SPORT.. re-label it FUN!! as I said before.. it shift you into SD mode.. and it's a lot different from standard.. not even the same as shifting the shift (this is with an Auto Transmission)

new place... the side mirror control is on the drivers door.. (both mirrors.. turn the knob and move it).

oh.. and the 'bonnet' opens from the DRIVERS side

so all in all.. drives real well.. has nice low end torque which the tritec doesnt have  seats are like the current sport models

but while it's a hell of a different interior.. you do have more legroom  since the center column is narrower..
while the 02-06 controls are layed out..
they 07 ..well. IMHO  has it all over the place... kinda like what the apollo capsule had.. switch and switch and switch etc...

 anyway  that's my humble opinion...

and yes I'm still keeping my PW 03
