Can anyone recommend a body shop??
«
on:
December 18, 2006, 11:31:17AM »
I was hit in the rear this a.m. by an SUV. Damage is minimal. I'd like to get the bumper replaced, if possible. The claim will be paid by geico. Does anyone have any experience with them?

They are GREAT! Jackie was in a bad car accident last year (no one got hurt!) about this time-the whole front driver side wheel and parts ware damaged inclding the door panel. Habberstad did a Great Job and it was paid in full $5,600 no penalty on my insurance bill!

so do you think I should go to habberstad? There are so many places by me. I just came from a place and he said he would' nt even bother with an estimate, to send the geico guy down and they'll work it out. He said the damage was so minor, that they wouldnt pay for a new bumper. The integrity of the bumper is still good.
I wish Habberstad wasnt so far

For a small damage like that just go to your closest place....

Go to a DRP - they are paid directly they the insurance company and state law mandates that the insurance company guarantee the work for as long as you own the car.

BTW, that means Direct Repair Provider.
Habberstadt has on in all the way up in Huntington Harbor that did the '03 MINI last year. GEICO works with them too.

MiniPT, I wrote this over on nemini.org when you frequented there earlier, but you must not have seen it - or maybe I missed your response
First, I'm sorry about the fact that you got hit. Second, it's best not to go to a dealer because, for the most part (around here anyway) farm out their body repairs to body repair shops.
I think I'd go insane if my MINI ever got dented in any way. I don't even know what to say - I'm glad you're ok.
I can recommend a body repair shop, but it's in Connecticut - Westport Auto Craft. They do absolutely great work!

Good Luck.... When you take the car to the body shop, they will tell the lizzard if they need more to do the job correctly after they take the bumper off and see if it can be fixed :-)
