Because the wives ware the designated drivers and on top when you taste(NOT DRINK) wine you spit it out anyway. I would NOT do that with good beer!

i never spit alcohol out it's against my religion
the 5 beer 5oz sampler we normally order is only 25oz total, less if you split it with a friend

last year a few of us braved the cold foggy morning and headed out to southhamption for some of the best beer on the island

Being form the 1st Pilzner made beer country back in 1292 (Pilzner Urquell made in Czech Republic) I fully agree with you. If I may I am open to put my 5 cents and help in organizing the Beer Run this year. I think we need to sit down(at a beer place) and format a plan, but also pre-taste the beer at the places. So this sounds like two beer runs, one for planning and one for drinking. I still feel we should have a some kind of backup to drive safely, maybe share MINI between four guise?
