LIME, Long Island Mini Enthusiasts, the Classic Mini and Mini Cooper club, http://LIMENY.org is pleased to invite all British classic cars to join us for a tour of some of Long Island’s best Mini and sports car driving roads plus two ferry rides.

LIME SPRING FLING 2008
Saturday May 10th (no scheduled rain date)
TOTAL COST $23 for 2 FERRIES - LUNCH is EXTRA

How Many Are Coming?
Plan to Caravan from the LIE Rest Stop at Exit 51

This is the complete plan and you should print & bring this with you if possible.

Please Note
Weather - We expect excellent weather, but plan to run even if it rains. In case of cancellation for any reason, you please give phone info when you RSVP so someone can call you or you may call Rath’s Saturday morning (631) 298-8866.
Parking at Rath’s house in Laurel is limited to Minis due to space.
Others please park on the north side of  Peconic Bay Blvd & walk in one block.
Volunteers to help direct parking & watch parked cars will be recruited as needed.
Note North Ferry $9 for car & driver, $2 for passengers, South Ferry $10 plus $2.
Two way radios will be used for communications tune to Channel 11

Approximate Itinerary
10:00am We start off with bagels and coffee at the Rath’s House in Laurel on the North Fork.
11:00am Leave Laurel & stop for fuel at Hess Gas on the corner of Bay Avenue and Route 25
11:15am Drive through New Suffolk to Horton Point Lighthouse on the Sound, then it’s off to Greenport.
12:15pm Park at the LIRR station by the Shelter Island Ferry queue and walk to the Greenport Carousel
1:00pm A short ferry ride to Shelter Island, hopefully aboard a ferry reserved exclusively for LIME.
1:30pm follow Route 114 into Sag Harbor and then explore some twisty roads leading to Bridgehampton, then a group photo on Matthews Lane, a cul de sac
2:00pm Tour the roads which formed the Bridgehampton Race course when it was held on public roads from 1949 to 1953, then follow the leader north of Montauk Highway again to A Butler‘s Manor in Southampton for a visit and a rest stop.
3:00pm Relax with a burger and beer at the East End’s first microbrewery, the Southampton Publick House http://www.publick.com/
4:00pm Caravan back West by route to be determined

Getting to the Start
>>There are two ways to begin, either be part of the LIE caravan, or drive yourself to the start at Bob and Barbara's house in Laurel (see directions below).
>>If you plan to caravan from the LIE Rest Stop between Exit 51 and 52 (traveling Eastbound), please be advised we will be leaving the rest stop promptly at 9:00 AM.  The pace will be leisurely out to Bob's @ 55 MPH.

FROM SOUTH SHORE
Sunrise Highway east to Exit 63 North, Route 31
Route 31 to Route 104 North
Route 104 to Route 105 North
Route 105 to Route 25 East
Laurel is the village just after Jamesport.
Make a right on Laurel Lane, Schmitt's Farms on the corner.
Make right at the Stop sign, Peconic Bay Blvd.
Make a left on Cedar Court (second street, opposite the only house on the right)
Bump at top of Cedar Court!!! Drive at an angle to avoid bottoming out
Cedar Ct bends to the left near the end of the street, Number 7 is first house on right after the bend.
Feel free to park on the grass
FROM NORTH SHORE
Caravan from LIE Rest Stop East of Exit 51 Leaving at 9am
Long Island Expressway East to Exit 73, CR-58 East
Go through Traffic circle
Route CR-58 becomes Route 25 East
Continue on Route 25 East

Turn Left (East) at Traffic Circle on Route 114
Follow Route 114 to Sag Harbor
Turn Right on Main Street
Turn Right at Light on Brick Kiln Road
Turn Left at End on Brick Kiln Road
Turn Right at End on Scuttlehole Road
Turn Left (South) at Traffic Circle on Butter Lane
Turn Left at Traffic Light on Route 27 Montauk Highway

Turn Right on North Sea Road 0.5 mi.
Turn Left on Route 27 Montauk Highway (and Sunrise Highway) 18.0 mi.
Turn Right on Exit 62 to Eastport Manorville Road 4.5mi.
Turn Left on LIE 495 (Exit 70)

Very nice run, very enjoyable & relaxed.  We ended up at the Southampton Publick House.  Thanks to the folks from LIME for an enjoyable day.
