so  I'm looking at doing an RLI5  but would like to do things a little diferent..
number one...
1 dont want to repeat the same  route...
2 might go backwards south to north or a figure 8
3 might exclude the southern road completely and just go out via the middle (think atlantis run. including mill road) and go along a bit of peconic bay down rt 25   and go onto shelter island frpom the north... and also LEAVE from the north.. (this would save us money on the ferry rides)
4 com back via the north route (this is where we lost someone a few years ago)

5 no idea on food  but start would be  airprot plaza... and yes would be taking the LIMP down the middle of the island

looking for feedback

I like the ferry ride very much so I would like to have it included. The visit to Atlantis Aquarium is 2x more expensive per person than the ferry rides. Last time we ware in Green Port we found a great Mexican food place, very reasonable and very good...how about stopping there for late afternoon dinner if we do the south-to-north 8 style route? Maybe we can do Congers shopping late after the dinner (we have been promising this for too long to the ladies).

My 5Cents...

pss  tangers

and i did a partial ride down today the middle from portion road and onto granny    and going a diferent way than the atlantis run.. no  Im not tLKING vt going to Atlantis aquarium.. just that route i took down the middle of the island..)
also did some eastbound along  peconic bay on the way out... so we would basically exclude the south fork ad the south shore...

 any feedback?

I attended last year and had a great time. I would love to attend again. Just let me know when. As long as I am cruising with other minis I don't really care about the route.  Woopy dance

I'm still waiting for Rob so it looks like when I get back from Vegas next week we will schedule next garage party meeting and do the RLI-5 date.
